Arsenal FC



Based in Holloway, North London, Arsenal Football Club, also known as The Gunners, is one of the most professional Club from England. Playing in the premier leagues, Arsenal Football Club has been one of the most successful clubs in English Football with 13 first division titles and premier league titles and 10 FA cups. Arsenal was founded in 1986 and they won their first major title in 1930s. After the word wars they became the 2nd club of the 20th century to win both League Championship and FA cup in 1970-71. Since, then there has been no looking back.

The last 20 years have been the most successful clubs in English Football. During these years, Arsenal won a couple of doubles, the Premier League in 2003-04 (Staying unbeaten) and then again in 2005-06, Arsenal became the first club from London to reach the finals of the UEFA Championships League. The traditional colors of Arsenal have been Red and White though there has been consistent evolvement on those as well.

Similar to the jerseys, the location for the club has changed over time as well, as they moved to the Arsenal Stadium, Highbury in 1913 from Woolwich, South East London where they were initially founded. Lately they have moved to their current home in the Emirates Stadium near Holloway. The fan base of Arsenal is too dense and diversified as Arsenal has long standing rivalries with many other clubs in England, the most prominent one being the Tottenham Hotspur. As far as the fortunes are concerned, Arsenal is one of the richest clubs on England with well over £600m of funds as on 2007. Arsenal Football Club is also the most successful and famous English Club for Women’s football as well.

In 1888, Arsenal came up with its first crest which featured three cannon viewed from above and always pointed northwards. To clearly distinguish them from Chimneys, they were also having Lions Head carved on to it and also a cascabel which announced that they were cannon. The parent company of Arsenal, Arsenal Holdings Plc, operates as a non quoted public limited company. Its board of directors hold as many as 45% of the shares of the cub and Danny Fiszman holds the largest shares from the club.
